Seahawks trade idea sends Tariq Woolen to Lions
On Kristopher Knox’s big board of NFL trade blocks entering Week 7, he has Seahawks cornerback Tariq Woolen listed as one of the top trade pieces heading into the deadline.
“The 2022 fifth-round pick has been rumored to be a trade candidate since September,” Knox wrote.
“Woolen is an impending free agent and missed Week 6 with a concussion. However, he is also a starter who should interest almost any team that needs help in the secondary.”
In addition to Knox’s analysis, NFL Network’s Ian Rapaport reported last month on Woolen’s declining playing time.
“Woolen’s playing time has decreased and in a contract year, teams believe he could be available.”
The former Pro Bowl cornerback could land a 2026 third-round pick, according to Knox’s great advice. As for possible suitors, the Detroit Lions were classified as a team desperate for secondary reinforcements.
With starting cornerbacks DJ Reed and Terrion Arnold expected to miss extended periods with injury, the Lions are in dire need of healthy defensive backs.
