The Portugal international scored an impressive 19 goals and 19 assists in all competitions last year.
However, he came close to joining the Saudi Arabian league in the summer but ultimately decided to stay at Old Trafford.
Despite missing a couple of penalties, Fernandes has continued to prove his worth to the team with two goals and an assist this season.

Despite playing a deeper role in central midfield, Fernandes has continued to have an impact higher up the pitch.
It was his world-class assist that gave Harry Maguire the chance to score a late goal at Anfield against Liverpool.
When Bryan Mbeumo’s shot was blocked, he deftly flicked the ball into the box for the first time, giving the Liverpool defense no time to settle and Maguire did the rest with a trademark header.
Moving up the rankings
Fernandes already scored a crucial goal last month when he scored his 100th for the club in a 2-1 win over Chelsea.
His assist against Liverpool now means that “Bruno Fernandes has provided the fifth-most assists for Man United in Premier League history.”
Fernandes was tied at 51 with Eric Cantona but has now surpassed the French legend.
Furthermore, “only Ryan Giggs, Wayne Rooney, David Beckham and Paul Scholes have more.”
Scholes has 55 assists, so Fernandes will surely look to surpass the legendary midfielder this season.
He has a lot to do if he ever wants to break Ryan Giggs’ record of a ridiculous 163 assists.
What makes Fernandes’ efforts even more impressive is that he has largely played in an average team by United standards and in a team that has failed to capitalize on its opportunities.
