AWS Outage: List of popular apps and websites affected as impacts of global service outage continue

Dozens of popular apps and websites continue to experience outages caused by a major outage in Amazon Web Services, a cloud computing service that powers much of the Internet.

a website that tracks online outages, users of apps like Snapchat and WhatsApp and major websites including Amazon began reporting service outages shortly after 3 a.m. ET on Monday.

Amazon said it was “investigating increased error rates and latencies for multiple AWS services in the US-EAST-1 region” and was actively working to resolve them.

As of 6:35 a.m. ET, the issue had been “completely mitigated” and most services were operating normally.

But the company added that there could be some lingering delays.

“Some requests may be limited as we work toward full resolution,” the update said.

Hours later, Amazon said it was still working to “address residual network connectivity issues.”

It is unclear what caused the outage, although there was no indication it was due to a cyberattack.
