Corn futures posted losses in most contracts on Thursday, with contracts down between 2 and 4 cents in most months. CmdtyView’s national average cash corn price fell 3 1/2 cents to $3.91.

Following the meeting between President Trump and President Xi of China, President Trump posted that China will purchase massive quantities of sorghum, although no details were given on the total. There was no mention of corn, although tariffs are expected to be lifted.

With only 1 day left in crop price discovery for crop insurance, December corn has an average close of $4.22 during October. That’s 6 cents more than last year and 48 cents less than the spring price.

On December 25, corn closed at $4.30 1/4, down 3 3/4 cents.

Near Cash was at $3.91, down 3 1/2 cents,

March 26 Corn closed at $4.43 ¾, down 3 cents.

On May 26, corn closed at $4.52 1/4, down 2 3/4 cents.
