Winn’s 32-yard return gave Manual (9-2), ranked No. 4 in Class 6A, a 14-0 lead at the 7:51 mark of the first quarter. Allen’s 15-yard return made it 28-0 with 6:06 left in the second quarter.
Manual quarterback Kaden Mack threw for 65 yards and three touchdowns: two to Brayland Miles and one to Noah Price.
Gerian Traynor led Manual’s rushing attack with 77 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries.
Manual will play Male next week in the second round of the playoffs. The Crimsons beat the Bulldogs 52-13 on October 31.
Fern Creek quarterback Javis Wallace threw for 150 yards, including a 69-yard touchdown pass to Jaydyn Jackson in the third quarter. The Tigers finished 4-7.
Jackson Burke threw for 285 yards and five touchdowns to lead the host Centurions (11-0), ranked No. 1 in Class 3A, over the Titans (1-10).
Burke completed 16 of 17 passes and threw touchdowns to Jeffrey Vazzana (two), Gaines Howard, Stone Perkins and Jayden Leak. Vazzana (five catches, 88 yards) and Perkins (four catches, 113 yards) were the top targets.
CAL’s Tyree Stoner carried seven times for 90 yards and three touchdowns.
CAL will host the DeSales-Garrard County winner in a second-round playoff game next week.
Gage Miller’s 18-yard field goal with one second left was the difference as the Titans (8-3) won a shootout against the host Colonels (4-7).
Collins quarterback Kade Goodin carried 28 times for 214 yards and four touchdowns and also completed 25 of 44 passes for 321 yards and two scores.
Goodin’s top targets were Avi Delaney (12 catches, 121 yards, two touchdowns) and Jason Here (nine catches, 132 yards).
Dixie Heights quarterback Mason Fields completed 20 of 30 passes for 410 yards and seven touchdowns. Nishawn Golsby had seven receptions for 248 yards and three touchdowns.
Collins won the total yardage battle 598-541. The Titans will play at Woodford County next week in the second round of the Class 5A playoffs.
Keagan Maher ran for two touchdowns and reached 4,000 career rushing yards to lead the host Jaguars (8-3), ranked No. 2 in Class 5A, over the Dragons (5-6).
Maher scored on runs of 12 and 1 yards.
Cooper quarterback Cam O’Hara, a Western Kentucky University commit, threw a 22-yard touchdown pass to Max Wethington and also scored on a 19-yard run.
South Oldham quarterback Adrian Miles had a 1-yard touchdown run and also threw a 9-yard touchdown pass to Anthony Dixon.
Cooper will host Scott County next week in the second round of the playoffs.
Landon Brown, Jason Rabe and Jordan Pendleton ran for touchdowns to lead the host Pioneers over the Colonels.
Simon Kenton also received a 65-yard touchdown pass from Grayson Harris to Forest Hughes.
Simon Kenton will travel to Trinity No. 1 next week for a second-round Class 6A playoff matchup.
Nash Meredith had a 1-yard touchdown run for Oldham County.
Thursday results
Zane Johnson threw three touchdown passes and also ran for a score in the first quarter to lead the Trinity High School football team to victory over visiting Great Crossing in the first round of the Class 6A playoffs.
Johnson completed 5 of 6 passes for 67 yards and made touchdown throws to Jayce Duvall (two) and Kaleb Warner. Johnson also had a 49-yard touchdown run.
Backup quarterbacks Isaac Byers and Will Howard also had touchdown passes, both going to Evan Myers-Smith.
Ashton Taylor and Jamaurion Berry added touchdown runs for the Shamrocks (9-2), ranked No. 1 in the state in Class 6A.
Trinity’s defense had five interceptions, led by Allen Evans with two.
Trinity will host Simon Kenton in the second round of the playoffs.
Gran Cruce finished 2-9.
Mason Trimble threw three touchdown passes as the host Tigers (8-3) built a 35-0 first-quarter lead and outscored the Trojans (2-9).
Trimble threw touchdown passes of 45 and 19 yards to University of Louisville commit Karsten Busch and 58 yards to Lucas Shelton. Trimble finished 6 of 7 for 171 yards.
U of L commit Marlon Harbin had touchdown runs of 32 and 10 yards in the first quarter.
Cooper Yates and Brandon Mobley also had touchdown runs for the Tigers, who are ranked No. 3 in Class 6A.
St. X will host Bullitt East in a second round game next week.
DyMetrius Taylor ran for three touchdowns and Jarel Butler threw a pair of touchdown passes to lead the home Bulldogs (7-4) over the Raiders (4-7).
Butler threw touchdown passes of 44 and 35 yards to Rakale Johnson.
Fairdale’s defense recorded its third consecutive shutout and fourth of the season.
Fairdale, which is riding a six-game winning streak, will host Butler next week in the second round of the Class 5A playoffs.
The host Bears (5-6) racked up 341 rushing yards to beat the Cougars (3-8) and record their fourth straight victory.
Jaeden James led the rushing attack with 134 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries. Kevin Blone (108 yards, two touchdowns) and James Cornish (99 yards, one touchdown) also had productive games.
Cornish added a 25-yard touchdown pass to Damarcus Watkins.
Butler will play at Fairdale next week in the second round of the Class 5A playoffs.
Bullitt Central’s Kyler Crenshaw had six receptions for 83 yards and scored three touchdowns (two rushing, one receiving).
Larron Westmoreland ran for two touchdowns to lead the home Chargers (6-5) over the Redhawks (4-7) and achieve their first playoff victory since 2012.
J’town will play at Atherton next week in the second round of the Class 5A playoffs.
The host Ravens (10-1), ranked No. 6 in Class 5A, recorded their eighth shutout of the season in a win over the Eagles (3-8).
Atherton’s defense ranks first in the state in points allowed, giving up 4.8 points per game.
The host Vikings (9-2) posted their third straight shutout to beat the Wolverines (4-7) for their first playoff win since 2008.
Valley’s nine wins are the program’s most since going 9-3 in 2007.
Valley will travel to Franklin County next week for the second round of the Class 4A playoffs.
Knox Barrett threw for 179 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Flyers (11-0), ranked No. 2 in Class 4A, over the Wildcats (3-8).
Jacob Taylor was the top target with four receptions for 73 yards and two touchdowns. Noah Coleman had a 27-yard touchdown run and returned a fumble 25 yards for a score.
Isaiah Mashni ran for two touchdowns and Jonathon Harper caught two touchdown passes to lead the Knights (9-2) over the Warriors (1-9).
Mashni ran for 42 yards on two carries and Harper caught two passes for 50 yards.
Lexington Catholic, ranked No. 4 in Class 3A, will host No. 10 Central next week in the second round of the playoffs.
Branson Williams threw a 24-yard touchdown pass to Brison Nuckols on fourth down and then ran in a 2-point conversion with 19.2 seconds left as the host Falcons (8-3), ranked No. 10 in Class 2A, rallied to beat the Lions (4-7).
DuBois had taken a 28-14 lead with 7:03 left on a 39-yard touchdown pass from Brian Dickerson to Kedrean Yarnell.
DuBois’ Rashad High had two touchdown runs and Yarnell had an 80-yard interception return for a touchdown.
Monroe County will travel to Lexington Christian next week for a second-round playoff game.
Deion Davidson scored two touchdowns, one rushing and one receiving, as the host Bearcats (9-1) defeated the Colonels (2-8).
Davidson ran for 34 yards and also had a 5-yard touchdown reception. Tyler Wilson had a team-high 66 yards rushing with a touchdown, and Caden Long threw a 49-yard touchdown pass to DJ Lawless.
KCD’s Pierce Bahm recorded three tackles and recovered a fumble for a touchdown.
KCD, ranked No. 4 in Class A, will face Holy Cross next week in the second round of the playoffs.
Caverna’s Tyson Martin had an 84-yard touchdown reception and also threw a touchdown pass.
