Happy Saturday, Dawg Pound!

There are a handful of college football games today that should be of particular interest to Cleveland Browns fans, especially those ready for the team to return to the quarterback market in the 2026 NFL Draft.

Those games include:

  • Fernando Mendoza and the Indiana Hoosiers against Wisconsin. An easy matchup for Mendoza.

  • LaNorris Sellers and the South Carolina Gamecocks against Texas A&M. A very difficult road game for sellers.

  • Ty Simpson and Alabama Crimson Tide against Oklahoma. Even though it’s a home game, there’s no such thing as an easy day in the SEC.

  • Carson Beck and the Miami Hurricanes against North Carolina State. It’s a joke!

  • Arch Manning and the Texas Longhorns against Georgia. As long as people continue to talk about Jimmy Haslam’s love for the Manning family, Arch will be linked to the Browns as a draft target.

So it’s going to be a busy day of quarterback watching leading up to Sunday’s game between the Browns and the Baltimore Ravens, which will involve a very different type of quarterback watching for Browns fans.

Until the day’s games begin, let’s take a look at the latest news and notes on the Browns and the NFL in today’s edition of Saturday Dawg Chow.

Dogs by nature:

Cleveland Brown:

  • Paul DePodesta leaves a mess in Cleveland (Browns Zone) – Well, here we are. There are only eight Browns games left, not counting the playoffs: push, push! It’s amazing how time flies when you’re between 2 and 7 years old. It’s also amazing how time flies when you don’t have a quarterback, or think you have a quarterback when you don’t. That’s where the Browns are now.

NFL:

  • Jaylen Waddle delivers for Dolphins with Tyreek Hill out (ESPN) – Miami Dolphins wide receiver Jaylen Waddle’s role changed after Tyreek Hill’s season-ending knee injury in Week 4; he became the Dolphins’ de facto best receiver. What didn’t change, however, is the way the Dolphins coaching staff viewed him.
