FIFA sanctions three African clubs
FIFA has cracked down again in Africa. Three clubs on the continent have been officially banned from signing new players due to unresolved financial disputes with players or coaches. The affected computers are Golden Arrows (South Africa), Al-Anwar (Libya), and African Stars FC (Namibia), all sanctioned for failing to comply with decisions issued by FIFA’s dispute resolution bodies.

According to information released by the world governing body, the ban will remain in place “until full payment of all outstanding amounts.” This severe measure immediately blocks any transfer activity, both in the winter and summer periods.
FIFA emphasizes that these bans are intended to “ensure contractual integrity and protect players’ rights”, a stance in line with its tough approach towards clubs that violate them. For the three sanctioned teams, the situation is all the more critical as some of the conflicts go back several seasons and concern unpaid salaries as well as outstanding severance payments.
