Of course, if you break an all-time Penn State record, you have to be the player of the game, especially in your last home game as the Nittany Lions. It may not have carried as much weight as he wanted, but Kaytron Allen’s four-yard run in the fourth quarter broke Evan Royster’s all-time rushing yards record at Penn State. All year long, Allen has proven to be one of Penn State’s greatest legends as a bright spot when everything seemed so bleak. No matter what happens, his performance on Senior Night and his finish at Beaver Stadium will be a memorable piece of history that Penn State fans will never forget despite the circumstances.

Zane Durant’s name hasn’t come up much this year, but tonight he was able to play freely without the demons of the season chasing him. His 1 sack and 1 tackle for loss showed his passion and hunger for his team, and why he was such a highly touted player during the offseason. His final season as a Nittany Lions may not have gone the way he wanted, but he will go down as one of Penn State’s most underrated defensive players in such a special class.
