The Blues had to work hard to get the three points against a team that fought for everything and faced Chelsea physically and intensely. But the Blues also did what they had to do and a strong performance from Andrey Santos in the middle made it more than a match for the hosts.

Santos was asked to play as a defensive midfielder in this game, something a little different for him. He’s been talking about the positions he likes to play after the game.
Estevao Willian did not take part in this match after resting from a busy international break with Brazil. But he was still on social media after the game praising his teammates for getting the big win.
Jamie Gittens was the one who put in a great cross for Pedro Neto to head home Chelsea’s first and most important goal of the game in the first half.

Gittens explained how happy the team was to win, especially at lunch time, fresh from an international break.
“It was a very close victory. Coming to Burnley and getting three points is good for us. We feel more confident.”
“We expected it to be a very tough game and that we would fight for the second balls, and today we did very well. Playing again at 12:30 on Saturday is not easy and I am happy to have achieved the victory.”
I practiced it in training.
Gittens has expressed his delight at his assist for the first goal, explaining that it is something he has been practicing at the Cobham training ground.

“I’ve been working on it in training and it came out in the game. I’m happy it came out. Pedro got there in the end.
“We’re definitely more confident and more comfortable playing with each other. We’re going to continue to work hard as a team.”
