Michigan’s top high school football teams are scheduled to play in state championships in eight divisions this weekend.

The state’s top two teams in the MaxPreps national rankings, No. 21 Cass Tech and No. 65 Detroit Catholic Central, will close out proceedings Sunday night as the Technicians seek a second straight Division 1 title.
However, before that confrontation a lot of drama awaits. Three other teams are also looking to repeat as champions: Orchard Lake St. Mary’s in D2, Pontiac Notre Dame Prep in D5 and Jackson Lumen Christi in D6, with Lumen Christi attempting a fourth consecutive state title after winning the D7 crown in 2022 and 2023.
