The Houston Texans’ star defensive end was named to the Pro Bowl roster on Tuesday, along with teammates Nico Collins, Azeez Al-Shaair and Derek Stingley Jr. All four players were named to the initial roster, and the previous three were named to the Pro Bowl ahead of the 2025 season.

On track to earn one of the richest contracts among defensive linemen this offseason, Anderson has been the trench anchor for Houston’s No. 1 defense entering the holiday season. Anderson, a Pro Bowl alternate during his Defensive Rookie of the Year season in 2023, has already surpassed his single-season sack totals with 11.5 and tackles for loss with 17.
Entering Saturday’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers, Anderson ranks fifth in the AFC in sacks and third in tackles for loss, trailing teammate Danielle Hunter by one apiece in each metric.
In the NFL, the Baltimore Ravens, Denver Broncos, San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks lead all teams in Pro Bowlers with six each. In terms of depth, Texans safety Calen Bullock, nickelback Jalen Pitre and cornerback Kamari Lassiter were listed as Pro Bowl alternates.

While the Pro Bowl title is nice for NFL names, the goal is for Houston to not have any players participating in the Pro Bowl since it will be played in the Super Bowl on February 10. In case the Texans miss the Super Bowl and their representatives show up the week before the events, which will culminate with a flag football game on February 3.
The event will take place in San Francisco.
With a win on Saturday, Anderson and the Texans would return to the postseason for the third straight year.
