There are no new injury problems for Everton ahead of their trip to Turf Moor to face Burnley. The Blues will look to turn their situation around after two consecutive defeats to Chelsea and Arsenal.

Jarrad Branthwaite and Seamus Coleman remain out with hamstring problems, while Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall remains out following his injury at Stamford Bridge. Iliman Ndiaye and Idrissa Gana Gueye will also miss the next few weeks of action, having joined the Senegal squad for the AFCON.

Merlin Röhl made his first appearance in six weeks after coming off the bench against Arsenal last weekend. The German midfielder is included in the Toffees’ squad for the trip to East Lancashire.

“(We are) pretty much the same as the weekend, without too many changes,” David Moyes said in the pre-match press conference.

“(The players who are injured) are getting better as we go. Jarrad is getting closer and closer to the grass, so we’re hoping to have him by the end of the month, but it might take a little longer than that. We’ll have to see.”

Jarrad Branthwaite has not played a single minute of official football this season after suffering recurring injuries this summer, finally having to undergo surgery two months ago.

Asked about a possible timetable for Branthwaite’s return, Moyes said: “Look, he won’t fit back in for at least another two or three weeks, maybe longer, so it’s not like he’s going to get him back quickly.

“I’m just saying it’s starting to look better than it was. We’re getting closer to that point.

“I think my biggest concern is that he’s missed a lot of the season to get back on track quickly and those things you need. But we need him back, even having him back in the team would be great right now for the numbers. There’s a plan for him and how he works; he’s on it right now.”
