For some time now, Real Madrid has been considered one of Bayern Munich’s main rivals for the signing of Dayot Upamecano, whose contract with the German champion expires next summer.
However, Real Madrid sources have told ESPN that the La Liga giants are “practically ruling out” signing the French defender.

Meanwhile, Bayern are making progress in negotiations with Upamecano over a new long-term contract.
The main sticking point appears to be the player’s demand for a release clause.
Reports suggest that Upamecano wants a €65 million release clause to be active from 2027.
Bayern would be willing to include the clause, but prefers it to start a year later.
