Founded in 1946 during the era of the Basketball Association of America (BAA, a precursor league to the NBA), the team has called the cities of Philadelphia, San Francisco, Oakland and even San Diego home.

To commemorate the players who wore those numbers, Warriors Wire covers the complete history of jersey numbers and the players who wore them since the team’s founding. For this article, we start with the first of the 19 players to wear the Warriors’ No. 34 jersey.

That player would be Golden State big man Carlos Rogers. After finishing his college career at Tennessee State, Rogers was selected with the 11th overall pick in the 1994 NBA Draft by the Seattle SuperSonics.

The Detroit, Michigan native played the first season of his professional career with the Dubs, traded to Golden State before the start of his rookie season. It came to an end with another trade, this time to the Toronto Raptors in 1995.

During his time suiting up for the Warriors, Rogers wore only jersey number 34 and scored 8.9 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game.
