Eintracht Frankfurt striker Elye Wahi (22) has signed for Ligue 1 side OGC Nice on loan for the remainder of the season, both clubs have announced.

The Frenchman returns to Ligue 1 after leaving for the Bundesliga in January 2025, changing Marseille for Frankfurt. Since his arrival, Wahi has scored just one goal in 614 minutes, spread over 25 games in all competitions. Back in November, Dino Toppmöller did not name the 22-year-old attacker in his matchday squad for performance reasons.

The return to France will hopefully coincide with the return to form of Eintracht’s €26m signing, who scored 29 league goals for Montpellier over two seasons between 2021 and 2023, earning him a move to RC Lens and then Marseille.

“Elye Wahi has already shown what he is capable of in the French league. We wish him all the best for the coming months in Nice and, above all, that he regains his self-confidence and security. We will closely monitor his progress and believe that a loan to an ambitious club is the most sensible solution for everyone.” said Markus Krösche, member of the SGE sports board.
