Zach Berman of The Athletic recently wrote an excellent article examining the best scout team (practice squad) player on the Eagles’ roster, and he was the veteran linebacker by a wide margin.
(Pointing to linebacker Chance Campbell’s locker) “See this son of a bitch right there? Really good. Probably one of the best scout team players I’ve ever faced in my life.”
Barkley, Jordan Mailata, Cam Jurgens, Brett Toth, Tyler Steen, Jahan Dotson, Moro Ojomo and Jihaad Campbell made Chance Campbell the overwhelming choice.
The Philadelphia Eagles re-signed Campbell on August 20 at the end of training camp.
Campbell, Tennessee’s sixth-round pick in 2022, missed his rookie season with a knee issue. The Ole Miss product played in four games with the Titans in 2023, appearing on 62 special teams snaps and five defensive snaps. Campbell (knee) tried out with the Bears in July and appears healthy after tearing his ACL last August with the Titans, forcing him to miss the 2024 season.
