Chicago trailed 16-0 heading into the fourth quarter, where, in true Bears fashion, they came alive and orchestrated back-to-back scoring drives that included touchdowns from quarterback Caleb Williams to wide receiver Jahdae Walker and tight end Colston Loveland. But they couldn’t make it three in a row, which proved to be their undoing, as the Lions kicked the winning field goal.

This loss comes on the heels of last week’s tough 42-38 loss to the San Francisco 49ers in a shootout. Not exactly the way the Bears would like to make the playoffs. But head coach Ben Johnson had the perfect message for his team about putting the last two weeks behind them and focusing on the postseason.
“I let them know it’s a new season,” Johnson said. “So we’re starting over right now. If we want to make the most of this new season, we need to go on a four-game winning streak, something we’ve already done twice this year.”
That starts next weekend when the Bears host the Green Bay Packers in the wild card round of the playoffs. Chicago has a chance to make it two straight wins against Green Bay while also earning its first victory in what Johnson and company, as well as Bears fans, hope will be a four-game postseason win streak.
Chicago has shown that it never runs out of play. And there’s no doubt that their wild card matchup against Green Bay will likely go down to the wire once again. This time, it’s up to the Bears to respond with a win.
