Lam Research Corporation (NASDAQ:LRCX) is one of the actions Jim Cramer talked about, along with memory shortages. Cramer highlighted the reason for the stock’s tremendous rally in 2025 and to date in 2026, as he commented:
Again, as with Taiwan Semi, these are not memory chips. In this case, Intel cannot produce enough CPUs. That means more business for capital goods makers, especially Lam Research. CPUs are their daily bread. Lam is also a major supplier of the type of equipment used to make memory chips. Therefore, they will be one of the first companies to benefit as memory and data storage companies look to increase their productions, which I know they want to do. That’s why this stock rallied 137% last year before posting another 39% gain in January. Now, some of these semiconductor capital equipment companies will report earnings in the coming days… While I expect all of these companies to report excellent numbers, the bar is now incredibly high, given how much their stocks have risen. Therefore, I cannot say for sure how its shares will react, since, as I say, they are rising in price.
