ASL Environmental Sciences Inc. has announced a new strategic marketing and distribution association with Sofar Ocean, which brings innovative oceanographic solutions to Canada and Alaska. This collaboration strengthens ASL’s position as a reliable supplier of advanced ocean monitoring technologies while improving the scope of Sofar in the northern markets.
In the center of this association is the Sophar Spotter platform, a compact metrocean buoy and solar energy that offers real -time data on waves, winds, sea surface temperature, barometric pressure and more. Rugged but portable, the Boya of Observers connects researchers and operators with their 24/7 data through satellite or cellular networks, with intuitive access through the observers and API board. ASL currently offers several observers buoys in their lease pool and offers personalized mooring solutions to integrate these buoys into specific coastal and marine studies of the site.
In addition, ASL also presents its acoustic zooplankton fish profiler (AZFP-Nano) As a new integration option for the Spotter platform. As part of Sofar’s intelligent mooring system, Light and portable AZFP-Nano offers acoustic retrodision data subsurface that provide critical information in zooplankton and fish populations. Through Sophar’s Bristlemouth hardware interface, AZFP-Nano data can now be transmitted in real time, which gives researchers access to underground biological data along with Spotter Metocean measurements.
