One of the best Oakland Raiders wanted to invest in the Cleveland Browns.

Except the NFL needed him to remove his name from their alcohol brands, and he wouldn’t do it.
So now Charles Woodson has nothing from the Browns.
This was reported by Front Office Sports on Thursday.
Woodson was going to buy a 0.1% stake in the Browns.
However, it did not change the alcohol brands of Charles Woodson’s Intercept Wines and Woodson Whiskey.
That was an NFL policy issue, so it was not approved for ownership.
Woodson has owned those alcohol brands since 2019, according to Front Office Sports.
“I thought I was going to be a proud owner of the Browns, but it couldn’t happen because I couldn’t get my name off my product,” Woodson told FOS. “It’s what created the product. That’s how I started, so I couldn’t do that.”

Woodson is originally from Fremont, Ohio, in the northwest part of the state, less than two hours from Cleveland.
He then went to Michigan, where he won a Heisman Trophy. He won a Super Bowl and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Woodson’s stake in the Browns would have been around $4 million.
The Browns told FOS: “We respect Charles’ decision and wish him the best.”
For now, Woodson has chosen his brands over a small ownership stake in the NFL and will continue to try to grow his business.
