But some of the things the Tigers had been doing well during their seven-game winning streak slipped inside the Moody Center and that led to their first loss in a month, a 77-64 loss at the hands of the Longhorns.

Here’s what Mulkey said after his team’s loss to the Longhorns on the road.
Kim Mulkey criticizes LSU women’s basketball’s shot selection
“It wasn’t just turnovers, it was shot selection. That to me is as good as turning the ball over, just making bad shots. When you play Texas, they’re going to press full court for 40 minutes. That’s not going to go away and you just have to take care of the ball. I thought they were good. They were hungry and they were very effective.”

Kim Mulkey on LSU leading Texas in some statistical categories
“I thought we were outrebounding them in the half. If you had told me in the half that we were outrebounding them and some of the statistical things we did better than them, I would have thought we had a double-digit lead, but we didn’t. In the second half, they went to the boards, they extended the lead, they got to the foul line. It was a hard-fought game, but you knew it was going to be one.”
Kim Mulkey on MiLaysia Fulwiley’s performance against Texas
“She gives you a spark, she gives you speed and quickness. She missed a couple of layups tonight. Six turnovers, you can’t beat anyone good having six turnovers, but she was trying to make things happen. She’s trying to play two positions, one minute I have her at the point, then the next minute I have her on the wing. I’m glad I got to coach her.”

Kim Mulkey on LSU women’s basketball’s composure against Texas
“I think they lost their composure a little bit. It’s turnover time, it’s bad shooting time. I guess you could use the word frustrated. They didn’t seem to stop playing hard. The first three or four minutes of the fourth quarter we had two shot attempts and we had five turnovers. To me, that’s composure. Give Texas credit, they created that.”
