Only Ohio State and Arkansas have a tighter schedule than the Longhorns. And Texas will play the Buckeyes and Razorbacks next season. OU has the fourth-toughest roster, which Texas also faces. LSU is in the Top 10 at No. 9. UT will also travel to Baton Rouge this season.
The Horns will face four College Football Playoff teams next season. Ohio State, Oklahoma, Ole Miss and Texas A&M represent one-third of the teams in the 2025 CFP. Two of those games are on the road and one is at a neutral site (OU). Only Ohio State of the CFP quartet will travel to Austin.Advertisement
But it’s not just the CFP teams that complicate the schedule. Texas also has to face LSU and Missouri, both solid programs. And we all know the problems UT had in 2025 with Florida and Mississippi State.
If Manning and the Longhorns are going to win a title in 2026, they surely will have won it.
