Mick Cronin wasn’t going to let the officials have the chance to eject center Steven Jamerson on Tuesday night.

Instead, he simply did it himself.

UCLA’s head coach ejected his own player from the 82-59 loss to No. 15 Michigan State on Tuesday after he committed a technical foul.

With about four minutes left at the Breslin Center, Jamerson came from behind and fouled Michigan State center Carson Cooper as he went in for a dunk. Jamerson also hit Cooper hard and sent him down the court awkwardly. Cooper immediately jumped up and confronted Jamerson under the basket, although the two separated without issue.

After watching the incident with his team trailing by nearly 30 points at the time, Cronin called Jamerson to the bench, grabbed him by his jersey and began carrying him off the court while pointing to the locker room. Jamerson didn’t protest much and simply ran toward the tunnel.
