According to Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports, Arizona is “expected” to hire Colts defensive quality control coach Brent Jackson in an assistant defensive backs coach-type role.

Jackson has been with the Colts for the past four seasons. Before that, he coached at the college level, including being on the staffs at Oregon and Auburn.
It was also recently reported that Shane Steichen made two additions to the defensive coaching staff, hiring Jeremy Bruce and Dillon Doyle as defensive quality control coaches, the same role Jackson filled.
Perhaps these additions were made in anticipation of Jackson getting a big opportunity elsewhere.
The Colts’ defense in 2025 ranked 21st in scoring and 23rd in yards per game given up, particularly struggling down the stretch of the season.

Addressing the defense this offseason will apparently be a priority for general manager Chris Ballard.
