Chandigarh: The second International Week of Science and Technology 2025 concluded on PU on Saturday. The one -week event brought together scientists, researchers, professors and students from India and abroad to discuss recent developments and their real world applications.Transforming lives through science and technology was the theme of the event. Twenty conferences were delivered in hybrid mode, covering six topics: engineering and technology, chemical sciences, pharmaceutical and dental sciences, physics and mathematical sciences, biological sciences and biomedical sciences. The speakers included experts from the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Iran and other countries.The Valeub session presented conversations of Professor Rajash Sani about industrial applications of microorganisms, particularly thermophiles, and Dr. Bunty Sharma, coordinated by Professor Rohit Sharma, Department of Microbial Biotechnology. Professor Renu Vig, Vice Chancellor, highlighted the importance of such initiatives for transdisciplinary research and innovation.Professor Naveen Gupta, president of the Department of Microbiology, said that more than 900 students participated, with 300 attendees in person and the rest online. The program was coordinated by Prof. Anupama Sharma, the Department of Engineering and Chemical Technology, with the support of Prof. Rajat Sandhir and Prof. Naveen Gupta of Biomedical Sciences.The event showed a growing participation of students with global scientific discourse and reinforced PU commitment to promote research, innovation and knowledge exchange.
