United track the former midfielder in Italy
Manchester United are exploring the possibility of bringing back Scott McTominay, who has impressed since joining Napoli.
McTominay left United in the summer of 2024 and quickly became a key player in southern Italy.
In his first season, he played a major role in Napoli’s Serie A title, scoring 12 goals and providing six assists. His impact earned him the Player of the Season award.
Good form continues despite Napoli’s problems
Although Napoli have been inconsistent this season, McTominay remains their standout player. The Scottish midfielder has scored 10 goals and provided four assists in all competitions, underlining his importance to the team.

According to Fichajes, Napoli are open to selling the player in the next summer transfer market.
While he remains one of the club’s leading figures, officials believe the sale could make sense, especially as McTominay is 29 years old and under contract until the summer of 2028.
With the club planning to make midfield changes over the summer, United view McTominay as a player who understands the club’s needs well, especially with Casemiro’s impending departure at the end of the season after the club decided not to extend his contract.
