Bernstein on Feb. 18 raised his price target on Home Depot by 5.2% to $381 (from $362) and maintained his Market Perform call on the stock. This price update comes ahead of Home Depot’s scheduled release of Q4 2025 earnings on February 24. The company is tempering its expectations, lowering its fourth-quarter same-store sales growth forecast by 40 to 50 basis points to reflect the recent snow storm, which has likely negatively affected home construction and improvement activity.
The weaker fourth-quarter 2025 same-store sales growth can already be seen in Home Depot’s competitors’ earnings release. Floor & Décor Holdings, which released its results on February 19, saw its same-store sales decline 4.8% year-over-year. Brad Paulsen, CEO of Floor & Décor, attributed this decline to “weakness in existing home sales activity.”
Builders FirstSource, which released its fourth-quarter results on Feb. 17, reported a 13.0% year-over-year decline in core organic net sales. The multifamily and single-family segments showed the largest declines of 20.4% year-over-year and 15.4% year-over-year, respectively.
