Despite losing a number of key rotation players, the Golden State Warriors posted an impressive victory over the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday, February 25. Eight of Steve Kerr’s nine-man rotation finished the game with double-digit scores; Only Malevy Leons fell short and finished the night with nine points.

The Warriors played at a breakneck pace all night, forcing the Grizzlies to play at a pace that seemed outside their comfort zone. During his post-match press conference, Moses Moody emphasized the importance of the team’s pace and how it led to such a balanced offensive performance.

“We found a rhythm, we found a flow,” Moody said, via Sam Gordon. “Last night was a little stagnant, but we calmed down and made shots. We took a lot more shots today… (Playing with rhythm) gives the defense more opportunity to make mistakes… So not everyone is prepared and ready to rotate to another player when the action happens. Just get the ball out, play fast, and then, even when you’re in half court, move and play fast.”

Wednesday’s win ensured the Warriors split the brief road trip that saw them face the New Orleans Pelicans and Memphis Grizzlies back-to-back. Plus, it was a reminder of the strength and depth the Warriors have at their disposal.

However, Golden State certainly hopes to get some of its veteran contributors back into the rotation in the near future. And of course, the eventual return of Stephen Curry will be welcome. Until then, it would appear there is enough talent on the roster to keep the franchise afloat.
