Do the Titans really have interest in Mike Evans?
Buffalo showed a lot of interest in Evans last week during the Combine and was certain to make a move for the All-Pro receiver if he hit the free agent market, a story I reported for the first time since the Senior Bowl. Therefore, it was a surprise to many that the Bills made the move for Moore at this stage of the offseason.Where could Evans end up next? I’m told there’s a real chance he’ll return to play for the Buccaneers in 2026, while the Tennessee Titans and Las Vegas Raiders are very interested if the right deal comes together. The New England Patriots haven’t shown much interest in Evans.
While there’s no doubt Evans would help the offense, one has to wonder what it would take to get him, not to mention the Titans are in the midst of a rebuild and Evans may be looking for a chance with a contender. Nothing is impossible in the NFL, but this one seems unlikely.
Pierce will be the first domino to fall.
Alec Pierce confirmed yesterday what I first reported since the Senior Bowl: He’s ready to test the waters of free agency. The four-year veteran, who was a second-round pick of the Indianapolis Colts in 2022, will set the market for the receiver position once free agency opens. He is expected to sign a deal in the range of $27 million per year, if not more.
I reported just before the Combine that the Las Vegas Raiders and Tennessee Titans are two teams ready to make an offer for Pierce. In the last few hours, I also learned that the New England Patriots are interested in Pierce and are expected to make a big push to land him. This makes sense since the team released Stefon Diggs yesterday and, as noted above, they have shown little interest in Mike Evans.
Pierce is a more likely target for the Titans than Evans, although he will likely cost much more. Pierce is already known as an explosive, deep threat, but he appears to have the skills to take his game to another level in the right system.
