Howden is restructuring its regional leadership and operations to better align expertise and deliver enhanced capabilities to global clients.

The new structure will be implemented from April 1.

Mike Parrish will assume the role of CEO for the Americas and will oversee all operations in the region.

Sonia Caamaño has been named executive director for Latin America and the Caribbean, reporting to Parrish.

His responsibilities include enhancing collaboration with Howden’s new US retail business.

José Ignacio Lathrop will assume the role of CEO for Latin America, supporting regional development and client relationships.

Howden will merge its Middle East and Africa (MEA) operations, including those in Bahrain, Oman, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Tanzania and the United Arab Emirates, with its European business to form a single brokerage region in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

Luigi Sturani will be the general director of EMEA. Richard Mockett, MEA’s current CEO, will report to Sturani.

Paul Redgate will serve as President of MEA, while maintaining his position as President of Specialties.

The company’s Indian operations, managed by Amit Agarwal, will now come under the Asia region led by CEO Rohan Bhappu.

Redgate will also become president of Howden India.

The International Growth Markets division, led by Sonia Caamaño since 2023, has recorded average annual organic growth of 16% in three years. These markets are being prepared for inclusion within the updated regional structure.

Howden chief executive David Howden said: “As we continue to attract talent, our priority is to align them to deliver for our clients. These changes reflect our continued commitment to being in the right shape, with the right talent in the right places, where clients need us today and where they will need us in the future.”

Earlier this year, Howden announced the acquisition of Polygon Insurance Brokers, which operates in Jersey and Guernsey.

“Howden Reshapes International Structure to Improve Customer Service” was originally created and published by Life Insurance International, a brand owned by GlobalData.
