Former Rutgers women’s basketball commit Chante Murray has found a new home.

Murray, who committed to Rutgers in October, was released and signed with West Virginia. He announced that he requested to leave his National Letter of Intent and will now join the Mountaineers.

Murray was the lone recruit in the Scarlet Knights’ 2026 class.

The 6-foot-1 guard is in the midst of her senior year at Crestwood Prep in Toronto. He attended St. Jude Academy in Mississiauga for a year before moving to Crestwood.

In 2024, Murray played for Team Canada during the FIBA ​​U18 Women’s Americup. He appeared in four games, averaging 1.8 points and 2.3 rebounds per game for a silver medal team led by his high school coach, Marlo Davis.

Murray is ranked fourth in the 2026 class in Canada by North Pole Hoops. She is known for her length and athleticism on both ends. He can defend effectively while also showing the ability to score in multiple ways.
