If you’re in Miami, you know how big of a deal megastar Pitbull is to the city. Many also consider him “Mr. 305.” That being said, when it came time for the FIU Panthers to rename their football stadium, the rapper jumped at the opportunity.

It officially acquired the naming rights to the stadium on August 6, 2024 and renamed the facility “Pitbull Stadium.” It was a five-year contract in which he would pay $1.2 million annually, for a total of $6 million.
Within the details of the contract, he was required to publish 12 social media posts a year promoting FIU athletics, appear at at least one sporting fundraising event and create an anthem for FIU athletics. Newsbreak reported that he only posted eight times on his social media, did not show up to any fundraising events, and did not create a school anthem.

To make matters even worse, on his personal website, the FIU athletics tab has been removed. His most recent post on college athletics came when the Miami Hurricanes reached the National Championship.
