Netflix Inc. is again raising prices on all of its streaming plans. The company announced Thursday that monthly rates will increase by at least $1, citing expanding investments in original programming and live events.

The ad-supported plan now costs $8.99, down from $7.99, while the standard plan jumps to $19.99 and the premium tier goes up to $26.99.

Add-on fees for “additional members” have also increased: $6.99 per additional user on ad-supported plans (previously $5.99) and $9.99 for ad-free accounts (previously $8.99).

Netflix justified the price increase by pointing to its growing content offering and new projects such as live shows and video podcasts.

The streamer plans to spend $20 billion on programming this year, about $2 billion more than in 2025, as it aims to increase both subscribers and advertising revenue.

The company previously forecast 2026 revenue of between $50.7 billion and $51.7 billion, noting that higher membership fees and a nearly doubling of advertising revenue would drive growth.

The move follows similar increases by other big streamers seeking to balance rising content costs with pressures on profitability.
