Sacked Met Offer imprisoned for 16 years for violations

A former Metropolitan Police agent has been imprisoned for 16 years after being convicted of violation, coercive and controlling behavior, voyeurism and harassment, in relation to three women.

Jake Cummings, 26, from Stevenage, Hertfordshire, was a special agent when he attacked the first woman and a police officer in London when the crimes took place against the other two women.

The jury in the trials at St Albans Crown Court heard that he had been in separate relationships with women for a period of almost five years.

Bilal Judge Siddique told Cummings, by Lytton Way, that what had happened could “only be described as nothing more than an abuse campaign.”

“There are a number of significant aggravating characteristics,” said the judge during the sentence in the same court.

“You abused your position as a police officer to control your victims; this was anything but impulsive behavior.

“The totality of your offensive shows that it does not take not because of a response from women.

“You were a police officer in service. Your offense must have been abundantly obvious to you.”

The judge concluded that Cumming was “dangerous” and represented a risk.

He said it should serve two thirds of the 16 -year sentence before probation could be considered.

The Hertfordshire police said that an investigation into Cummings, who was a special agent in Dorset before working in London, began after a victim made a report in February 2024.

A second victim appeared shortly after and a third victim was identified through the analysis of a mobile device.

Cummings, who had also lived in Hemel Hempstead in Hertfordshire, was arrested at his mother’s house in Weymouth, Dorset.

Cummings had been convicted of coercive and controlling behavior, voyeurism and harassment in October 2024 after a trial.

The jury members had not been able to reach verdicts about the accusations that he had violated two of the women, but was convicted of two violations in July 2025 after a rehilating.

The Metropolitan Police had fired Cummings in October 2024 after concluding that he had committed serious misconduct.

Barrimer Campaspe Lloyd-Jacob, who represented Cummings, said: “He knows that he deserves a long prayer.

“It has been difficult for him to accept his guilt, but he does appreciate his responsibilities.”

Miss Lloyd-Jacob said that Cummings would undertake any course available in prison with the aim of turning it into a “best person” when freed.

She told Judge Cummings “was young” and that her father had died for suicide when her son was “very young.”

A Hostfordshire police spokesman said that between July 2019 and February 2024 Cummings had turned the three women into an “absolute misery with their oppressive behavior.”

Police said women came from three different parts of the country, but they all told “very similar stories of harassment and coercive control.”

They said that the “abusive behavior” of Cummings continued after relationships ended.

Neil Vaughan, from the Crown Prosecutor’s Office, said: “Jake Cumming thought he was above the law, but his convictions demonstrate otherwise.

“These women did not know each other, but together they painted a convincing image that exposed the vile pattern of abuse inflicted by Cummings.”
