Charania reported that Ivey was suspended after “recent anti-LGBTQ comments amid several rants about religion,” among other topics. Ivey, who was drafted No. 5 overall by the Detroit Pistons in 2022 and earned NBA All-Rookie Second Team honors, was acquired by the Bulls before the trade deadline.

Last month, Ivey said the old version of himself is “dead” after not receiving many minutes in Chicago’s rotation.
In recent days, the former Purdue guard made several comments on Instagram that caught the attention of fans.In a video, she questioned the legitimacy of pregnancies between lesbian couples. Additionally, he referred to Catholicism as a “false religion” in an Instagram comment.
He also suggested the Pistons would be “irrelevant” on “Judgment Day” in another video.
As of this publication, Ivey has not publicly responded to the news of his release. He will now become an unrestricted free agent this summer.
