SEATTLE (AP) — The New York Yankees won all five of their challenges using the automated ball-striking system during Monday night’s game against the Seattle Mariners.

It all started in the bottom of the second inning when José Caballero correctly disputed that two strikes called by home plate umpire Mike Estabrook were balls, including a 3-2 pitch by Mariners starter Luis Castillo. Caballero touched his helmet for a challenge as he removed his left shin guard.

Giancarlo Stanton also successfully challenged that a 1-2 slider from Castillo was below the strike zone, and then reached with a single. One batter later, Jazz Chisholm Jr. disputed that Castillo’s first-pitch slider was out of the zone, although he then struck out.

After that at-bat, Estabrook and New York manager Aaron Boone had a verbal exchange, and Boone remained in the dugout. The Mariners held a 1-0 lead after six innings thanks to Cole Young’s broken-bat RBI single in the second.
