Hurst announces promotions in tax and business services

UK accounting and business advisory consultancy Hurst has announced a series of senior promotions across its tax and business services divisions.

The firm has promoted corporate tax specialist Ellen Feetum to partner.

Feetum joined Hurst from KPMG last year as an associate partner, tasked with developing and leading Hurst’s corporate tax compliance service.

Simon Brownbill, Hurst partner and practice development director, said: “These are the first promotions since we partnered with Dains, and there will be many more to follow in line with our continued growth and strategy to strengthen the team for the next phase of our journey.”

In the tax team, Sarah Haley has assumed the newly created role of associate director.

Haley joined Hurst in 2006 as a graduate intern, moved to KPMG in 2015 and returned to the firm as a manager in 2021.

Five members of Hurst’s business services department have also been promoted to associate manager positions. All five began their association with Hurst as apprentices.

Those promoted are Ewan Lawson, Miles Redgrave, Jasmine Ali, Jake Holt and Todd Thompson.

Hurst tax director Liz Gallagher said: “Ellen’s promotion to partner is fully deserved and marks an important milestone for both her and the firm. It reflects the continued growth of our tax team and the increasingly sophisticated work we are doing for clients.

“Since joining Hurst to lead our corporate tax compliance function, Ellen has made an immediate and lasting impact.

“Sarah’s promotion is also a fantastic achievement and well-deserved recognition of her contribution to the business and her technical skills.

“As a new role within Hurst, the associate director position also reflects the broader opportunities now available as a result of the firm joining Dains.”

Last month, Hurst expanded the corporate finance and business services operations teams with two appointments.
