Capital One Launches New Venture Business Card with 150,000-Mile Welcome Bonus for a Limited Time

Business owners can earn Capital One miles to use on future travel with the new Capital One Venture Business Card. As a new Venture Business cardholder, you’ll also receive a huge limited-time welcome offer worth up to 150,000 bonus miles.

The Venture Business card replaces Capital One Spark Miles for Business and has a similar rewards structure and annual fee. But you’ll also get some additional benefits that can help you save money on business expenses each year.

Here’s what you need to know about the new Venture Business card and how to take advantage of the limited-time bonus.

    • Transfer your miles to 15+ travel loyalty programs
    • Redeem your miles instantly for any travel-related purchase, from flights and hotels to ride-sharing services

Venture Business’ welcome offer is two-fold: First, you’ll earn 75,000 bonus miles after you spend $7,500 within the first three months of account opening. You can then earn an additional 75,000 miles after spending a total of $30,000 in the first six months.

In total, there are 150,000 bonus miles.

But don’t also forget the rewards you’ll earn as you work toward that bonus. At 2x miles per dollar, the $30,000 required to earn the full bonus within six months will net you another 60,000. Combined with the 150,000, that means you could earn 210,000 miles in the first six months.

If you redeem your rewards for travel at a value of 1 cent per mile, that’s $2,100 in rewards value. Even without taking into account the miles you’ll earn when you spend, the limited-time bonus alone is worth $1,500 toward future travel.

Capital One Venture Business, like the Capital One Venture Rewards credit card for consumers, is a solid travel card with simple rewards that can help you maximize every purchase to save on future trips.

Although Venture Business has an annual fee, it is quite affordable compared to many other business cards today. It’s also relatively easy to offset against regular business expenses. At the standard 2x rewards rate, you can earn $95 in rewards value after spending $4,750 per year.

With many other business cards with double rewards or 2% cash back available today, you’ll typically find much higher annual fees for unlimited annual rewards or spending limits that limit how much you can earn each year at that rewards rate.

What also sets this card apart from other flat 2x rewards business cards are the additional benefits you’ll get:

  • $50 annual travel credit for Capital One business travel bookings

  • $50 annual statement credit toward purchases from qualified advertising or software merchants

  • Up to a $120 credit toward TSA PreCheck or Global Entry every four years

If you use just the two $50 annual credits each year, you can easily offset this card’s $95 annual fee, even before accounting for the value of the rewards in your spending.

Finally, the limited-time welcome bonus for Capital One Venture Business skyrockets its value for first-year cardholders even more. If the total of $30,000 spent in the first six months is within your business’s budget, you won’t find many cards with higher bonus rewards today.

If that amount exceeds your usual budget, don’t spend more than you can afford just to earn a bonus. Consider applying for the card when you have a large business purchase to make or when you plan to spend more anyway. Otherwise, taking on high-interest debt or even the increased bond amount won’t be worth it.
