After a couple of slow weeks, the Oregon Ducks have moved quickly down the recruiting trail. Dan Lanning and his staff have secured the commitment of three quality defenders this month, and a fourth could be on the way soon.

Consensus four-star linebacker Brayton Feister got a prediction for the Ducks on Friday from Rivals recruiting expert Greg Smith. The Akron native will take an official visit to Oregon in June.

The Ducks have set the pace in recruiting Feister, even as new teams are joining the mix. Nebraska and Georgia offered Feister last month, but it appears this recruitment will come down to Oregon and Cal, led by former Ducks defensive coordinator Tosh Lupoi.

Feister is ranked as the No. 132 player in the 2027 class.

The 6-foot-2, 235-pound star from Archbishop Hoban in Ohio also doubles as a running back for the Knights, but the Ducks have always wanted him at linebacker. As a junior, Feister made 133 tackles with 39 tackles for loss and 13 sacks. As a running back, Feister had 1,098 rushing yards and 17 touchdowns.

He has built a close relationship with Lanning and the Ducks in his three unofficial visits to Eugene. Lanning’s message to Feister speaks not only to how badly the Ducks need to land a big-time linebacker, but also to what Oregon’s coach might have planned for him should he land in Eugene.

“We’re very close,” Feister told Rivals. “His message is also about being a part of something great and being their first first-round linebacker in the draft.”

As of now, Feister has two official visits scheduled. He will go to Cal on June 4th and then return to Oregon on June 19th. As you rack up offers, you could add more to that list. However, by giving Oregon the final say, the Ducks are in a good spot to land Feister. She plans to get engaged this summer, shortly after her official visits conclude.
