The WWE Undisputed Championship feud was heading in that direction earlier this year, but the polarizing introduction of Pat McAfee and Jelly Roll in a main event matchup has been a controversial topic among WWE fans in recent weeks.

Here’s how McAfee’s story played out on Saturday night during Night 1 of WrestleMania 42:
McAfee was the first to make an entrance, waving two middle fingers as he walked down the ramp, something not many (if any) have had license to do since Stone Cold Steve Austin in his heyday. The audio also captured McAfee saying “fuck you” to someone in the crowd.
Orton brought some positive energy to the building with his entrance, which received the usual chant from the more than 50,000 at Allegiant Stadium.Rhodes got an extended entrance that features close-ups of four mannequins wearing his gear from his many character changes throughout his long WWE career.

McAfee took the microphone from announcer Alicia Taylor to give his own Paul Heyman-style introduction, which really can’t compare to the WWE legend.
Before referee Charles Robinson rang the bell, McAfee attacked Rhodes with his microphone. Rhodes recovered and hit a Cross Rhodes on McAfee, then dragged McAfee to an announce table to hit him. Jell Roll appeared in the ring and jumped from one announce table to the other, elbowing McAfee and the table.
Jelly Roll yelled at Rhodes to give the fans what they came for, and medical staff brought out a stretcher to carry the injured McAfee out of the area. McAfee finished his performance by raising his middle finger from the stretcher.
This may be WWE’s way of pulling McAfee out of the rest of the show and giving us a match, but I have a feeling McAfee may not be done on Saturday.
