Violet Affleck advocates clean air initiatives. The eldest daughter of Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner delivered a speech about the importance of mask mandates and clean air efforts to the members of the United Nations on Tuesday, September 23.

“The leaders tell us in all areas that we are the future. But when it comes to the ongoing pandemic, our present is being stolen right in front of our eyes,” said the 19 -year -old in The Healthy Indoor Air: A Global Call To Action Event.

Affleck shared his concerns about the adverse impact that “ignoring, minimizing and hiding so much the prevalence of air transmission and the threat of long covid” in future generations.

“I am terrified by the children who do not know, or soon they will not know, a world without pain and weakening exhaustion; that they cannot trust that their bodies play, explore and imagine; that the potential of their own minds will not know without restrictions due to the cognitive damage of a COVID-19 infection,” he added.

The teenager, who had a 3M respirator during her speech, advocated recognizing the filtered air as a human right. He also urged those who “remember 2020” to join her to press for stronger protections in the future.

“We can recognize the filtered air as a human right as intuitively as water,” he said. “We can create clean air infrastructure that is so omnipresent and obviously necessary that tomorrow’s children don’t even know why we need it.”

This is not the first time that AFFleck has issued a call to action to prioritize respiratory health. Next, we have gathered the times that the adolescent has talked about the effects of Coronavirus and the long covid, the continuous need for clean air efforts and the traps of hurrying the return to normal after the pandemic.

Pens Affleck article about Covid and the climatic crisis

Affleck, who enrolled at Yale University as a first -year student last autumn, published an article about COVID and Yale Global Health Review, a university publication that covers current problems in global health, earlier this year.

In the titled essay A sick chronic land: Covid Organizing as a model response model in Los AngelesPublished in May, AFFleck indicates parallel responses to the forest fires of Los Angeles and the Coronavirus pandemic.

“Our bewildered response to crises such as Los Angeles fires tells us that we can still be accustomed to addressing the climatic crisis such as Covid-19 pandemic: as a matter of how quickly we can pretend to pretend that the problem has disappeared,” Affleck wrote.

Affleck then criticized the “promised end” to the Pandemia of the Coronavirus as another issue of a “public relationship than public health”, citing public impatience, the broadly circulated wrong information and the influence of corporate interest on institutional public health to illustrate its point.

Affleck Voices Opposition to mask prohibitions in Los Angeles

During a meeting of the Los Angeles County Supervisors Board in 2024, AFFleck talked about the importance of using a mask and the dangers that prohibition masks could represent for communities at risk. The clean air defender revealed during this speech he had developed, and recovered from a long covid from the beginning of the pandemic.

“I hired a post-viral condition in 2019,” said Affleck, who appeared as a “Los Angeles resident” and “voter for the first time,” and added: “I am fine now, but I saw first hand that medicine does not always have answers to the consequences of minor viruses. The pandemic covid-19 has thrown it into the relief of Sharper.”

Affleck, then 18, expressed concern about the ways in which Long Covid can exacerbate the homeless people crisis of the city and negatively impact color communities, trans people, the elderly and those who are disabled.

“To face the long COVID crisis, I demand to availability of mask, air filtration and UVC light distant in government facilities, including prisons and detention centers, and masks mandates in the medical facilities of the County,” he said, before advocating “free tests and treatment of high quality” and against mask prohibitions “for any reason.”
