Joel Embiid returned to the Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday, April 26 after recovering from appendix surgery that kept him out of the first three games of the NBA playoffs and the Sixers’ only game in the play-in tournament.
Embiid started for the 76ers in Game 4 and played most of the first half against the Boston Celtics. He led Philadelphia in scoring after two quarters, although Boston dominated, leading 56-38 at the half.

The 76ers trail the Boston Celtics 2-1 in the Eastern Conference first-round series.
Embiid has not been on the court since the 76ers’ loss to the San Antonio Spurs on April 6 during the regular season.
