Starting from pole position, the young Italian lost ground at the start of the race to Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc, dropping back to third place. In the 57-lap race, the lead changed hands several times, with McLaren’s Lando Norris and Max Verstappen in the Red Bull also having their moments at the front.

However, Antonelli fought back and regained the lead mid-race with Norris right behind him, chasing his first grand prix victory of the season.
The Mercedes driver managed to hold off Norris’ challenge in the end, crossing the finish line 3.264 seconds ahead and achieving his third consecutive victory.
With that, Antonelli made history as the first driver to convert his first three pole positions into victories.
He also joined an elite group, becoming the third driver to achieve three consecutive grand prix victories, after world champions Damon Hill and Mika Häkkinen.

Oscar Piastri, in the other McLaren, took third place from Leclerc, who had a late spin that cost him what would have been Ferrari’s fourth consecutive podium.

Leclerc hit the wall and, although he managed to get going, he lost further positions to George Russell and Verstappen in the final two corners, eventually finishing sixth.
After the race, the Monegasque received a 20-second penalty for leaving the track several times without a justifiable reason, leaving him in eighth place, while his teammate Lewis Hamilton inherited sixth position.
Verstappen also faced a five-second penalty for crossing the white line at the pit exit, but managed to maintain his fifth place thanks to a gap of almost 10 seconds on Hamilton.
Franco Colapinto celebrated his best result in a race in F1, achieving seventh place for Alpine.

Carlos Sainz finished ninth in his Williams, while his teammate Alexander Albon scored the last point in tenth place.

Leclerc is clinging to third place, but is now 21 points behind Russell and 41 points behind the leader.

Piastri is in sixth place with 43 points, while Verstappen has risen two places to seventh with 27 points.
