Matt Olson found it bittersweet to hit his 300th home run in Atlanta Braves’ loss
Speaking after the game, Olson expressed his excitement at reaching this milestone in his career, but wished the Braves had gotten the win as well.
“Yeah, obviously, a big milestone, being able to get the ball back,” Olson told Chad Bishop of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “I wish we could have gotten the win too, to make it a little sweeter. But you’ll remember it.”

Olson went 1-for-3 in a 5-4 loss to the Mariners, with a walk, a strikeout and a run scored. Three of the four runs scored by the Braves came from solo home runs. Catcher Drake Baldwin hit one in the top of the first and Ozzie Albies hit one in the top of the sixth inning.

Olson’s home run is his 12th of the season and puts him in front of the National League and tied for third in the MLB. The three-time All-Star also leads the MLB in runs batted in (32), tied with Baldwin for the lead in runs (33) and leads in doubles (15).
The three-time Gold Glove winner is doing all of this while maintaining his streak of consecutive games.
