On Wednesday’s live show, Sam Querrey made a blunder that the network admirably didn’t ignore. Instead, Tennis Channel tweeted it.

What Querrey said
The studio’s three presenters were making predictions for the Italian Open when Querrey boldly claimed that Mutua Madrid Open champion Marta Kostyuk was the player he predicted would make a deep run.
The other hosts seemed confused. A few awkward seconds passed before Tracy Austin told him that Kostyuk had withdrawn from the tournament a day earlier.
Querrey took it easy, putting his hand to his forehead and thinking as he went about how to recover.

Querrey’s error points to the fact that the tennis season is at an alarming pace right now, and even the media is having trouble keeping up.
It also doesn’t help that TC doesn’t send a large group to tournaments. The Los Angeles team is working with second-hand information in multiple time zones.
In an era where the media makes mistakes all the time, in all facets of life, we couldn’t help but laugh at Querrey’s mistake and that Tennis Channel accepted it by posting it on social media.
