STREET. Louis – Homicide detectives of the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department (SLMPD) are investigating a fatal shooting that claimed a man’s life in the city center on Monday.
The authorities told Fox 2 that there was a discussion around 7 pm in a parking lot, which then intensified in shots, which resulted in two shots in the 3800 block of Lacledde Avenue.
SLMPD says that one of the men who was shot died from his wounds. Police say that the other victim appeared in a hospital in the area. The authorities say that the exact age of the victims is unknown at this time, but it is believed that they are around 16-20 years.

A student told Fox 2 that he was playing an intramural football game when the shots sounded.
“We didn’t know what it was at the beginning, and we listened to a lot of (shots) leave,” said Jack Geysen, a SLU student. “We lay down in the fields and many of us run.”
From the shooting, the Department of Public Security of the University of Saint Louis (SLU DPS) shared on social networks that there was a great police presence in the Avales de la Aldea, but has been cleared.
“We will continue this investigation, but there is no indications that this argument that intensified in shots had something to do with the SLU campus,” said the greatest Janice Bockstruck. “We do not believe, at this time, that the campus in danger.”
