Tim Lester addresses questions about his offense
Lester began his availability of media that he was asked about his level of confidence in Hank Brown directing the Si Gronkowski program wasting time with his injury.
“It’s hard. I’m sure I would tell you that I would like to play better. Everyone do it. His feet were a little stunned. He made a couple of great releases. I lost a couple, I’m sure he wants to come back.
“He went to the right places. We simply have our feet under him. He has so great feet, quiet feet.
“That is one of the reasons why he had a good spring and autumn camp, and: everyone’s feet, Mark’s feet were also seen in week 1, and Mark’s feet have improved. The last three games, I feel that I think it’s like 70% completion. He understands it. He is comfortable with that. Any field marshal.
After that, Lester was asked about the game by land, which has seen that his yards for hauling decrease this season, and what he needs to improve with that group.
“The inconsistency, because of anyone in the corridor’s situation, has been interesting. Everyone has been working hard. We have had a different start, I think, in each game. We finished the last game with only two that were healthy and one of them was Kamari, who was injured early and did not return to the three game.
“So only obtaining the consistency with the line or runners, I think that will help a ton, already measured to improve the ball, will eliminate more pressure from the career game.”
Later in the session, Lester was asked about the first year closed wing of a red shirt, DJ Vonnahme, who is replacing the injured starter Addison Ostrenga.
“Yes, just seeing him improve daily has been a lot of fun. The field marshal of the high school, you know, and entered here, he had never played. Something like Reece Vander Zee. They are learning a new position.
“Then, the level of growth that a guy like that can have, and you have seen it. He had to put the weight first. He had to learn to block, and let you tell you that the quarterbacks do not do that naturally, but he is learning to do it. Then, obviously, we obtained the screen on his hands against Rutgers, and he put a little in space.
“You know, what happened in the camp, ORT was hit at some point during the camp, which really forced DJ to get a lot of repetitions and really accelerate their growth. You have to see that it was ready.”
Finally, Lester was asked that Brown and the first -year field marshal Jeremy Hecklinski ready in case Gronowski has to miss some time.
“It’s a great week. I can tell you this about Hank. Hank at the end of the spring ball was really humming. You know, this camp began a bit slow, and then he really began to push Mark at one time once his feet returned to the comfortable again.
“Devils is a great player now. He is hard. He has a bit of arrogance for him. He reminds me when I played, like a small gun linger. He is aggressive, you know. But he simply was not here much, and now he is here. So it is fun to have two boys who have a lot of talent, who do not have a ton of experience, but they have a lot of talent.
“So today it was a lot of fun for both of us, because as the third Stringer, you do not get repetitions. This is how it is. So today to see a great week for us too, obviously, but it was fun because I think it is a very talented child. It will be a great week for us just let those boys get the representatives.”
