Destin, Florida– DESTIN, Fla. (AP) — A dog named Eeyore turned rescuer, leading a Florida sheriff’s deputy to the spot where a missing 86-year-old woman fell while he was walking, body camera footage shows.

The woman’s husband reported her missing on the night of September 25 after she did not return from her walk.

“She only takes this dog, but it never takes more than 10 or 15 minutes,” the worried husband told an Okaloosa County sheriff’s deputy. Footage released Monday. “It’s been about an hour now. It’s been over an hour now.”

The responding deputy drove around the neighborhood until she saw Eeyore in the middle of the road. The dog ran toward the deputy, who replied, “Hey! Where’s your mother?”

The dog then led her to the spot near where the woman had fallen.

The woman, who was alert and later transported to a medical facility, was amazed that Eeyore directed the deputy to her, noting that it wasn’t even her dog.

“Did he come to your car?” The woman asked the deputy. “Oh, honey. …Oh, you’re a good boy. Grandma loves you.”
