With Vanderbilt off this weekend, Commodores quarterback Diego Pavia attended a Tennessee high school football game on October 10.

Pavia showed up to watch Nashville Christian host Tyner Academy, and Pavia got to see one of the best high school quarterbacks in the country: Jared Curtis of the Eagles. Curtis threw for 312 yards and four touchdowns as Nashville Christian defeated Tyner Academy, 49-42, in TSSAA Week 8 action.

Curtis, a Georgia football commit, is a five-star recruit in the class of 2026 and is ranked as the No. 1 prospect in Tennessee and the top-ranked QB in the country, according to the 247Sports Composite. Nashville Christian is the No. 1 team in Division II-A, and the defending TSSAA state champions improved to 7-0.

Pavia has led the Commodores to a 5-1 record this season. Vanderbilt suffered its first loss against Alabama, 30-14, on October 4. The 20th-ranked ‘Dores will host LSU on October 18. Pavia has thrown for 1,409 yards and 14 touchdowns with four interceptions. He also rushed for 352 yards and two touchdowns.
