The legend has already scored 41 goals in World Cup qualifying.
He came into the night tied with Carlos Ruiz, the former Guatemala great, with 39 goals in the standings.
But that first goal of the night put Ronaldo past Ruiz, and he added a second for good measure.

Ronaldo has already scored 142 goals for his country, which is also a record.
Portugal, however, did not finish the job tonight. Liverpool star Dominik Szoboszlai scored a late equalizer in added time to tie it 2-2.
Ronaldo, now 40, has won five Ballon d’Ors and is considered one of the two best players of this era along with Messi. Together, they have redefined the sport and put themselves in the conversation among the greats of any generation.
